Digital Education Review (DER), new issue

It's our pleasure to inform you that Digital Education Review has just published its latest issue at http://greav.ub.edu/der 

DER is a journal designed as a space of dialogue and reflection about the impact of ICT in education and new emergent forms of teaching and learning in digital environments. ICT plays an important role in education, raising discussions and important new challenges. Analyze the impact of ICT and new forms of literacy and learning are the main interests of Digital Education Review. The journal focus is related to digital literacy and to virtual teaching and learning: virtual environment design, development of cognitive tools, educational materials, Internet, hypermedia and evaluation of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) when applied to education. The publication is open to all those investigators who wish to propose articles on this subject. We will accept investigation work of the theoretical and bibliographic, as well as the practical and experiential. Finally, this journal is the result of the intellectual work of Digital Education Observatory (OED) and Virtual Teaching and Learning Research Group (GREAV) at University of Barcelona.

 

Digital Storytelling conference, call for papers  

The Inter-university Institute for Applied Modern Languages of the Comunitat Valenciana (IULMA) & the “Departament de Filologia Anglesa i Alemanya” of the “Universitat de València” will be hosting the International Conference on Digital Storytelling between the 21st and 23rd of March 2012 in Valencia (Spain).

Important Dates: 

Deadline for abstracts: October 15th 2011 

Notification of Acceptance: 15th November 2011

Deadline for full papers: 30th January 2012

Registration: early bird until 10th january 


Website dedicated to teaching and learning of oral and written language

The Observatori d’Educació Digital (Digital Education Observatory) and  the Department of Education of the Generalitat of Catalonia publish the web APRENDRE TEXTOS, under the guidance of Ana Teberobsky Coronado, Coronado, a professor at the University of Barcelona and member of the OED.  The website serves the training and retraining of teachers of elementary and primary education interested in everything related to teaching and learning of oral and written language, therefore provides information on the units of language teachers and students involved in teaching and learning of reading and writing concepts that justify certain practices or activities in the classroom, teaching sequences and really specific practical proposals to develop the classroom, students’ examples of educational practices and models organized around several themes. The contents of the site are based on a psychological theoretical perspective, empirical evidence and current historical research on the subject, and the experience gained during years of work in schools Ana Teberobsky and his team, with the intention of promote reflection and improve teaching and learning process, as well as language and academic skills of students.

Website dedicated to the educational uses of digital stories

ThThe Observatori d’Educació Digital (Digital Education Observatory)  and the “Grupo de investigación Enseñanza y Aprendizaje Virtual”, GREAV (Research Group Education and Virtual Learning) publish a website dedicated to the educational uses of digital stories, especially personal stories, multimedia and multimodal (digital storytelling). The site offers: conceptual information about these stories, some stories (short videos) created by students of different educational institutions in Catalonia, publications and resources that can contribute to the understanding of the topic and links that may be useful to guide the creation and the use of digital storytelling in educational contexts and educational purposes.
