E-learning seminar 


In the context of E-Learning Seminars, OED and GREAV organized a workshop entitled "Training on competences: a commitment with the quality of learning". The person who hold the conference was Monica Kaechele, who is a professor at the Universidad
 Católica de Temuco (Chile) and a memeber of the quality research group GREAV.

Ebook "Learning and education in digital society"


It has been published the eBook "Learning and education in digital society." It includes some contributions shown in the last e-learning seminar, where five research groups from the University of Barcelona, ​​Campus Mundet, and the Observatory of Digital Education has shared their latest research, ideas and developments on education in digital society. The book shows some current research and different theoretical positions.

Workshop: "Personal Learning Environments in institutional contexts"


On october 28th and 29th OED and GREAV organized a workshop focused on PLE when it is implemented in institutional contexts. Several experts from different institutions assisted, and some of them explained their current

entre research projects related to PLE -Gemma Tur (Universitat Illes Balears), Anna Engel (Universitat de Barcelona), Fernando Albuquerque Costa (Universidad de Lisboa), Jesús Salinas (Universitat de les Illes Balears) y Jordi Adell (Universitat Jaume I), among others-. Whithin this workshop experts could share their projects and discuss among different approaches in institutional contexts.

DER: Call for papers about assessment and accreditation in MOOCs


This special issue will accept papers that tackle topics such as alternative assessment methods for MOOCs, successfull peer-review systems in massive online courses, role and type of badges in MOOCs associated with learning activities and different approaches of learning, among others.

The deadline to submit abstracts (upt to 1000 words) is on December 1st, 2013.

E-learning workshop: Teaching and Learning in the digital society


This time e-learning workshop was focused on learning and education in the digital society. It has been an occasion for reflection and discussion about educational goals, challenges and perspectives in a virtual society. 

The program also included two invited talks, one given by Antonio Rodriguez de las Heras (Universidad Carlos III) and another by Daniel Cassany (UPF).

Website dedicated to teaching and learning of oral and written language

The Observatori d’Educació Digital (Digital Education Observatory) and  the Department of Education of the Generalitat of Catalonia publish the web APRENDRE TEXTOS, under the guidance of Ana Teberobsky Coronado, Coronado, a professor at the University of Barcelona and member of the OED.  The website serves the training and retraining of teachers of elementary and primary education interested in everything related to teaching and learning of oral and written language, therefore provides information on the units of language teachers and students involved in teaching and learning of reading and writing concepts that justify certain practices or activities in the classroom, teaching sequences and really specific practical proposals to develop the classroom, students’ examples of educational practices and models organized around several themes. The contents of the site are based on a psychological theoretical perspective, empirical evidence and current historical research on the subject, and the experience gained during years of work in schools Ana Teberobsky and his team, with the intention of promote reflection and improve teaching and learning process, as well as language and academic skills of students. 


Website dedicated to the educational uses of digital stories

The Observatori d’Educació Digital (Digital Education Observatory)  and the “Grupo de investigación Enseñanza y Aprendizaje Virtual”, GREAV (Research Group Education and Virtual Learning) publish a website dedicated to the educational uses of digital stories, especially personal stories, multimedia and multimodal (digital storytelling). The site offers: conceptual information about these stories, some stories (short videos) created by students of different educational institutions in Catalonia, publications and resources that can contribute to the understanding of the topic and links that may be useful to guide the creation and the use of digital storytelling in educational contexts and educational purposes.
